1.30pm – 4pm

Join me for a relaxing slow stitch workshop. I’ll guide you through the easy principals of making an improvised mini quilt! You don’t have to finish this work in the session either – its about relaxing your mind and having a simple activity that you can work away at through the Autumn. The mini quilt can be a gift for someone or you can keep it in your pocket – a soft, tactile cloth to remind you to breathe out if ever you need a moment to yourself. No experience of sewing required – I’ll show you the basics including threading a needle!
Power In The Making - New Quilt work at Warwick Arts Centre
3rd November – 15th December 2024, Warwick Arts Centre
Way back in early 2024, I was fortunate to be commissioned by Warwick Arts Centre to make a quilt to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Over the last few months I have been piecing together fabric blocks and hand making an improvised quilt. The blocks were were initially created together with participants from workshops both at the Arts Centre and with partners around the city of Coventry and its immediate neighbourhood.
Joining me on these 11 workshops was my textile assistant -the fabulous Julie Joannides! Together we spent time sharing our knowledge of hand stitching and quilt making with brilliant participants that attended the sessions either at Workshop Wednesdays at the Arts Centre, Foleshill Women’s Training, Kairos, the Chit Chat Group at Canley Community Centre or with the wonderful nursing team and staff from the Intensive Care Department at George Eliot Hospital.
Do take time to pop up and see the quilt – all the fabrics were donated or from my stash. Its surprising what we can do with even the tiniest of fabric pieces!
There is a launch event on Sat 2nd Nov 2024 1:30pm in the Theatre Bar where I am in conversation with Director Doreen Foster at 2pm. More info here.
Thursday 7th November 2024, Warwick Arts Centre
6pm – 8pm
If you’d like to spend time with me either stitching your own small work that you can bring from home or just free stitching onto cloth, then join me in the Mead Gallery! You can stitch alongside me or find a space in amongst the wonderful Material Worlds exhibition and lose yourself in the rhythm of hand stitching. I can provide needles, cloth and thread if required.

Quiet Activism - The Pod
February, 2017
In 2017 I was invited to be featured in the Quiet Activism project which looked into the lives of five people who inspire, encourage and influence those around them by setting an example to celebrate social inclusion. Part of the Scratch The Surface mental health arts festival organised by The Pod and its arts collective, Collective//Pod, within Coventry City Council. See the film produced by Mindsweep Media.
